FAQs

Where are you located?

Unfold Den is located in the Highlands at 3555 Pecos Street in the RMSER building in room 119.

Are sewing machines provided?

Yes! Sewing machines are provided for all students, but you’re welcome to bring your own if you prefer. We kindly request that you only bring your own sewing machine if it is from the last 30 years and is in working order.

We use Brother NS80e machines in our studio for adult and kid sewing workshops.

What if I don’t finish my project in class?

No problem! We host frequent Open Sew / Sew-cial hours where you can continue your project at your own pace and finish your project with over-the-shoulder support.

What is the minimum age for kid's classes?

Kids must be 8 years old or older. If you have a child younger than 8 years old and believe your child would be able to handle operating a machine, please reach out to set up a trial time with one of our instructors.

What materials do I need to bring?

Unless otherwise specified, you don't need to bring anything! We provide all sewing machines, notions, fabric, tools, and materials needed.

Can kids as young as 8 really learn to sew?

Absolutely! In fact, we've found that kids often pick it up much faster than adults!

What if I've never touched a sewing machine?

OMG, you are our favorite!

We have a wide range of classes available that range from true beginners to confident beginners and intermediate to advanced sewers.

If you've never touched a sewing machine before, we highly recommend our Intro to Sewing workshop as a great starting point.

How many participants are in each class?

Classes require a minimum of 2 students. Class sizes vary by class type but are typically between 4-10 participants.
